Pick a game preset and Parlour already knows whether low or high wins, plus when the game ends. Add your table and log each hand. It all saves on this device.
Every game in Parlour is a traditional card game in the public domain. Hearts, Whist, Poker, Rummy and their family have been played for generations and belong to everyone. The law is settled here too: game mechanics and methods of play cannot be copyrighted. What the law protects is specific rule text, artwork and trademarked names. So Parlour holds itself to three house rules:
Every rule, guide, and tip is written from scratch in Parlour's own voice, nothing is lifted from any rulebook.
Where a commercial game is a dressed-up classic, we teach the classic. Crazy Eights is the traditional game behind several boxed favourites; The Ladder is our own house contract-rummy climb, played with a single standard deck.
Parlour's look, the felt, the cream, the gold, is its own. Standard suit symbols (♠ ♥ ♦ ♣) are centuries old and free for all.
That's the whole trick. Honour the games, write our own book.
The short version: Parlour is a free guide to traditional card games. Play kindly, drink sensibly, and gamble with matchsticks.
Parlour provides rules, tips and scorekeeping for traditional card games, for entertainment and information only. By using it you accept these terms.
Card games are folk games. Our rules are written carefully but every table plays a little differently, and Parlour makes no guarantee that any rule matches your local tradition. When friends disagree, the table decides.
Some games describe drinking rules. These are intended for adults of legal drinking age only, alcohol-free versions are always offered, and nobody should ever be pressured to drink. Please drink responsibly.
Where games involve betting, Parlour describes home play with chips, coins or matchsticks. Parlour does not offer, facilitate or encourage gambling for money, and you are responsible for following the laws where you live.
Player names and scores you enter are stored on your own device so your games survive a refresh. Parlour does not collect, transmit or sell personal information.
The games themselves are traditional and belong to everyone. Parlour's written guides, design and name are original work, please don't copy them wholesale. See the Fair play page for how we handle this in the other direction.
Parlour is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Parlour accepts no liability for losses arising from use of this site, including lost games of Hearts, friendships strained by Cheat, or the contents of the king's cup.
These terms may be updated as Parlour grows. The effective date below will change when they do, and continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Parlour regarding use of this site.
Questions about these terms, a rules correction, or anything else: reach the Parlour team through the contact details published on this site.
Effective date: 13 June 2026. Thanks for playing fair, and enjoy the games.
